香港正版挂牌图彩Squid vs. The Hotel Room Blocks

Ugh, the hotel room blocks. So far,http://www.69598.info/liuhegongshiwangzhan/201503/21.html, this has been the most un-fun wedding related task I’ve crossed off our list. It just boils down to the fact that hotels in NYC are crazy expensive and I felt extremely guilty saddling our guests with that kind of expense. Nevertheless, hotels are needed, so hotels we shall have! Don’t be fooled by my gusto to take on this challenge. I contacted a plethora of hotels and was shocked by all the exorbitant quotes I received. (Apparently December is a very popular tourist month in NYC, making negotiations with hotel reps very difficult.) This eventually resulted in a lot of grumbling on my part, and at one point I shamefully declared, “If they don’t like these hotels,http://www.775888.org/775888_com/201503/187.html, then they can find their own!” I’m such a gracious host.

In the end, we are giving our guests two options: convenient or cost-efficient. There’s also a DIY option, which I’d totally go for if I were a guest at our wedding.

Convenient: Brooklyn Bridge Marriott. The Marriott is situated smack dab in the middle of our church and reception sites. One could potentially walk from the Marriott to our church,http://www.044234.info/044234_info/201503/21.html, but we’re thinking most guests will opt for a taxi in the winter weather. It also offers the largest guest rooms of all the hotels we looked at.

Cost-efficient: La Quinta Inn. This hotel is farther away from all the wedding action,香港正版挂牌图彩, and it may or may not be across the street from a gas station. However, it has excellent reviews on TripAdvisor,财神客栈高手坛,http://www.775888.org/775888_com/201503/186.html,最快开奖现场报码器, and past guests rave about the service and cleanliness. That’s all I can ask for in a budget hotel.

DIY option: Airbnb.com. My parents and I used Airbnb when we vacationed in Portugal, and the apartment suite we got was more fabulous than any four star hotel we could have stayed at. A quick search on Airbnb for the Brooklyn area returns amazing loft apartments, duplex brownstones,http://www.775888.org/www_775888_com/201503/185.html, and other charming vacation homes—all at rates equal to or cheaper than the options I listed above. I’m still toying with the idea of abandoning the hotel blocks in favor of a sweet artist loft location for our getting ready photos. While it would provide a truer Brooklynite experience,六和合彩开奖时间,http://www.379456.info/379456_com/201503/17.html,http://www.244266.info/244266_com/201503/17.html, the downside to this option is that our guests would have to be pretty city-savvy to navigate Brooklyn without a concierge. But I’m confident most of them can handle it!

The hotels we selected don’t penalize us for unused rooms in the block. This was imperative when choosing hotels since we don’t know yet how many guests will need accommodations for the night. We both have some out-of-state and even out-of-country family,http://www.949666.info/liuhejintianmaishime/201503/22.html, so if (key word: if) they make the trip they’ll take a hotel room for sure. But the bulk of our guests are from the New York/New Jersey area who will only need somewhere to stay if they decide they want to party like it’s 1999 and crash in Brooklyn rather than drive back home.

::Sigh:: I’m exhausted from just recounting my showdown with the hotel blocks,潇洒道人心水论坛. Did you have it any easier with hotels than I did? How many hotel blocks did you reserve for your guests? Anyone else recommend Airbnb to their guests,香港天下彩报码?
